Ryan Chuman is a trial attorney in the firm’s South Pasadena office. Mr. Chuman’s litigation practice focuses on professional liability, public entity liability, employment law, business litigation, cyber litigation and general liability. He represents employers in a variety of employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims based on race, age, gender, and disability status. He has defended public entities against excessive force allegations and civil rights violations. His litigation practice in the construction industry includes consolidated, multi-party, complex litigation in matters involving defects, delay, as well as landslide/slope failures. Additionally, Mr. Chuman has extensive experience representing design professionals in professional liability matters. Mr. Chuman is actively involved in all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling through trial and appeal, in state and federal court.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chuman clerked for the Honorable Barry Russell of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California where he assisted in the research and preparation of the 2012 update of the Bankruptcy Evidence Manual.
Mr. Chuman received his undergraduate degree from the University of California Los Angeles and his law degree from Southwestern Law School where he was a moot court intramural brief writer finalist and received the Cali-Award for Academic Excellence in international law and development.
