Raymond R. Barrera is a trial attorney in the firm’s South Pasadena office. Mr. Barrera focuses his practice on public entity defense, construction defect, breach of contract, inverse condemnation, and real estate matters. Mr. Barrera has over 20 years of litigation experience involving jury trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Prior to joining CCM+S, Mr. Barrera represented public entity clients involving construction breach of contract, eminent domain, and inverse condemnation and dangerous conditions of public property matters and was in-house counsel at First American Title Company of Los Angeles.
He currently serves as an Arbitrator for the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Attorney-Client Mediation and Arbitration Service program.
Mr. Barrera received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from University of California Los Angeles and his law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and was admitted to practice in 1993.

Substantial Award of Liquidated Damages for Public Entity Client at Trial: Mr. Barrera represented a public entity at trial in a construction breach of contract case and recovered a significant amount of liquidated damages for his client due to delays in completing project milestones and contract completion dates.
Reversal of Trial Court on Appeal: Mr. Barrera represented a residential developer in post-trial proceedings and on appeal and obtained a reversal of the trial court’s judgment imposing a public trail easement on the owner’s property.
